The SWITCHtoHEALTHY consortium is happy to announce the upcoming start of its innovative multi-component intervention (study protocol registered by EURECAT – Centre Tecnologic de Catalunya, Spain) next September. The activity is comprehensive cross-cultural investigation designed to promote adherence to the Mediterranean Diet pattern.
Key components of the intervention include:
– Newly-created healthy snacks: the co-created snacks are designed to be both nutritious and appealing, making it easier for children to make healthier food choices.
– Innovative digital tools: modern technology will support families in tracking their diet and staying motivated throughout the intervention.
– New educational materials: hands-on resources will be provided to educate teenagers and other family members about the benefits of the Mediterranean Diet and how to integrate it into their daily lives.
The intervention will last for a total of three months and all the collected data will then be analyzed by CREDA – Centre de recerca en economia. The results will be the subject of various scientific publications and will also converge into Policy Guidelines for policy-makers, elaborated by the Permanent Observatory of the Mediterranean Diet established within the project.
