CNTA at EFFoST International Conference – 6th November 2023
On the 6th of November, the partner CNTA participated in the 37th EFFoST International Conference in Valencia (Spain), that focused on the theme Sustainable Food and Industry 4.0: Towards the 2030 Agenda. The SWITCHtoHEALTHY project and specifically the “Food Eco-design methodological guide and its application in plant-based snack development” were presented to the audience through a poster presentation.
A case study with the partner Delafruit S.L.U., healthy food manufacturer, was used to discuss the Eco-design criteria applied in the new food product development process, to optimize the design and mitigate the environmental impact of the industrial processes. The strategies employed in the pilot case were mainly based on the selection of low-impact ingredients, the reduction of packaging materials, and the use of more efficient production methodologies.
The Eco-design methodological guide developed will be applied by the food manufacturers within the scope of SWITCHtoHEALTHY project.
